Welcome Message

Kyoko Kikuchi Congress Chairperson We are pleased to announce the 4th Asian Perioperative Nurses Association (ASIORNA) Conference to be held on October 10 and 11, 2014, in Fukuoka, Japan. We invite our colleagues in the perioperative nursing from around Asia to join us for this meeting. It is our great honor and pleasure to host this conference following the successful 3rd Conference held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2012.
Today, the world is going through dramatic changes in political and economic situations, environmental conditions and medical care. We, perioperative nurses, have a great responsibility as part of a team involved in perioperative care to ensure the safety of patients undergoing surgery.
For each professional involved in the perioperative care to apply their expertise, while paying respect to teach each other, and to practice safe medical surgery, the perioperative nurses must become the key person in the process. And so it is very important to provide the day-to-day development of skills and personnel training for the perioperatice nurses. For this very reason, we have selected: “Team Approach to Perioperative Care: Multi-professional Collaboration” as the theme for 2014 conference.
We would like to invite you to contribute in the conference in oral and poster presentations, share the current concerns of the perioperative nursing and discuss the future prospects and participate in the special lectures and symposia. We hope the conference will be a forum for the participants to think about our profession in medical care.
Fukuoka is a western gateway of Japan, open to the Asian region. There are many rich hot springs in the surrounding area where people visit for relaxation. In addition, the city is well known for very delicious food.
On behalf of the Japan Operative Nursing Academy we wish to welcome everyone to join us in Fukuoka.

Kyoko Kikuchi
Congress Chairperson
